While trying to gather new ideas for my master thesis I stumbled upon some interesting videos concerning the views into the future and predictions on how (social)media will evolve.
Davide Casaleggio’s company produced a video exploring the future of media. It is a very cool 6-minute video, which takes some educated (and imaginative) guesses at how the Web and media will evolve over the next 40-50 years
You can also take a look at some “history” (not obligatory of course):
Also and more impotantly I would like to point out a man called Eric Qualman. I located his blog by looking for interesting and new information concerning social media and developements in the field. The blog can be found on http://socialnomics.net/ . But most importantly I would like to get my hands on the book itself “Socialnomics”. Than it could also be presented as literature. But for now, to get interesting facts and insights into the media I would like to suggest that you take a look at Eric’s blog and you’ll find a lot of interesting facts and theories from there.
Also you should check out a quick “Social Media Revolution 2” review (a very cool information collection):
I started thinking about a necessary application that is definitely needed in estonia. And when I was confronted with an issue that again on a saturday evening/night it is impossible to get a cab unless you are in the centre of town just because of …
The situation itself promted me to think of an application which would allow one to call a taxi by using a mobile phone application. To see the free available taxis near your location and also make life a bit easier for the cab companies by creating a web based positioning system, which will allow the driver to serve CSTs while going to the next call for example.
Unfortunately, as it is with a lot of things, this kind of an application has already been thought of and also produced to be used on an iphone. The application is called (Taxi Magic – http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/taxi-magic/id299226386?mt=8; http://www.ridecharge.com/ )
There have also been other thoughts about the same subject and even products have been created but with not a lot of success:
http://www.cabsense.com/ (this one actually seems to be used by a number of people)
Bad news, but it would be a good idea to start using it in Estonia also. Possibly even make it available on android etc.
They say that the beginning is the hardest.
Anyhow, to ponder on the subject of writing a master thesis, I do have a couple of ideas. They do not have definite limitations and guidelines set already, but.
The main idea that I want to address at this point would be to do with finding and obtaining certain necessary information within the noise that we are confronted with every day. I haven’t located the excact means on how to do that or whitch issue to pursue in detail, but I will get there. There are two ways to simplify the process. It would be either by using a certain software application or by reinventing some individual social portals that we are provided with to go through our everyday lives efficiently.
Will clarify in the future!
